I truly appreciate the helpfulness and kindness I have experienced with Jay and Kim. They have been so welcoming and even... helped me out when I had trouble with the sign up application process. I love the property and especially the garden. Its so nice that its dog friendly my pup loves it here! So far its fairly quiet considering its in the city I have not experienced any problems. Incredible Manager; Fast Maintenance; Very Responsive!
Kim has been an exceptional Mgr! She is always accessible, addresses issues or questions immediately, & is always: kind &... helpful. Quite honestly, she made my move SO easy for me??..& At such a stressful time in my life, I couldn't be more grateful?? The only reason I'd put 3-stars for amenities, was bc I started looking @ moving here a few mos. ago, & the indoor pool wasn't in-service. I'd figured it would "surely" be in-service by the time I signed a lease, but now 3Wks into my lease, (almost 3mos. later), & it's still not in-service?? Very disappointed. The indoor pool is important for my physical therapy, & a big cost-justification for paying more $ for rent "here" vs. the other place I'd also considered renting.. I would've had to drive to a pool, & felt the extra cost here was worth it..The indoor pool was 1 of the few major reasons I chose this complex...I really hope it gets fixed soon, & would be happy to change my rating if/when it does? Other than that? Not many/any negatives?.... Although right on main bus line, this complex, (community), is quiet & safe, so I now see the busline as a major plus! (It's there incase my car's in the shop!) All neighbors I've met, have been kind & helpful. The grounds of this community are extremely well-manicured & clean; the entire courtyard is beautiful!..& Never any fight for parking...Gorgeous Place! The procedure in place is very very very difficult to navigate. I have tried numerous times to submit a payment and cannot... tell if I've made the payment or numerous payments.

There are pros and cons to living here, honestly. Pros include kind and diverse neighbors, the courtyard, the pool, and... the location.
A major con is the constant change in management. Management changed 5 times in three years. Multiple reviews on GoogleMaps mention how this inconveniences residents. At the least, it is difficult to have resident concerns addressed. Communicating concerns to the office usually require multiple efforts over time, and from multiple residents. It is frustrating!
I spoke with a senior manager, Melanie, about the constant change in managers and she told me yesterday that I "should be happy that they move on to better properties." I know that my neighbors internalize these messages in a narrative of, "corporate uses this property as a training area for managers because we are poorer." It is honestly demoralizing to see how the corporation seems to devalue residents who may pay less rent than residents at other Weidner properties, when, in fact, the richly diverse, mostly immigrant, and valuable people here actually usually have graduate degrees and impressive goals.
Certainly, in 3 years I can say that we had one effective manager, but she was quickly shuffled to another Weidner property. It is sad that residents here are not considered worthy of good, consistent management. And, resident concerns and requests are consistently brushed aside and not addressed. For example, it took a concerted effort on the part of residents to return pool and fitness hours to the 6AM-10PM schedule many months after it was allowed by state public health rules. My impression that customer service at this property is simply not a priority or even interest has been reinforced multiple times.Read More about There are Pros and Cons

It saddens us that you've come to think of Colonial Square as a training ground--that is certainly not how we view it, and we sincerely apologize for anything we've done to contribute to this perception of us. The real reason for turnover being higher than we would like is the national labor shortage which, unfortunately, is causing high turnover in just about every facet of our organization, and we're not alone in that. We fully admit that this is causing us to fight an uphill battle when it comes to prioritizing and addressing resident concerns, however this is still a battle that we're dedicated to fighting. Please, if you could, give us another chance to work with you to make things right and to see that your needs are met, and call us with any new or ongoing concerns you may have.

I recently moved in to Colonial Square and was very impressed by the excellent management, especially Madison Barr, who always... responds to questions quickly and is very friendly. The location is top notch: right between shopping and key employers. I especially like how everything I need is within biking distance.
The grounds are mostly well kept, and the fountain is a nice touch. The rooms are quiet and comfortable, and the price is lower than many of the adjacent communities, making it an outstanding value. Read More about An excellent place to live

the proper is insecure i feel.
no camera's in Laundry room, no camera's in parking lot , I have purchased shaded parking but still not feeing my car is... safe , anybody can finger my car and i don't even know who did it , as there is no camera's , there are four big open entrance but no security who is coming what is he doing no record, as there is no camera are there, in corridor also are not secure if there is a parcel on the doorstep and person is not at home parcel can be steel easily , who did that no record. Great Complex to live in....quiet, quaint, and homey-feeling.
We've lived here now on our 3rd year. Though at times you'll experience typical apartment problems, the management is so... friendly, nice, and understanding, that it makes issues feel honestly and 100 solved. The community is quiet, friendly, and encompassed with all doors facing a nice, greenery-surrounded courtyard pool house. - Parking Uncovered parking is always available, but in this weather, parking your car uncovered is not a good... idea. Even though the community has paid covered parking, but I don't see much difference.
- The noise The neighbors downstairs always come knocking at my door even at 10pm in the night saying that I was making noise, when I was just doing some cooking for myself. I don't know where the noise came from to be honest and I saw that behavior as rude, but since they have small children, there were days I literally sit quietly and did nothing And there were days I could hear them talk and laugh, even at 1-2am in the night. The quality of the apartment needs lots of improvements.
- The laundry room it now looks more like a laundry room of the 19's, people leaving the room pretty dirty water all around after washing their clothes.
- Hot water in the bathtub runs off after 20mins of using it.
The good sides
- I've stayed in different communities and I'd say Jeni is probably the most helpful property managers I've ever met. She always tries to help when she can. It really makes our stay much easier and comfortable if we always have a person to go to for our problems while staying in the community and knowing that she will always help. Honestly, I wouldn't be staying here if Jeni was not so helpful since I had had bad experience before with the property managers of the previous communities.
- Nicely-managed community the landscaping is good and well taken care of.
- Maintenance really quick. I've had requests solved within a day.
Overall, I think Colonial Square is a nice place to live in. But to be honest and from my observation, the rent is pretty high compared to what we are getting vs. what we could get out there with the same amount.Read More about Nice community
